Storm & hurricane season
Storm & hurricane home watch
in Southwest Florida.
When a storm crosses the coast and you are a thousand miles away, the question is simple: what does my house look like right now? Steven goes and looks, documents what he finds, and tells you directly.

Before the storm
Your home is already on a protocol.
Storm readiness is not a separate product here — it is what recurring home watch already gives you. Steven knows your property, knows how it is normally secured, and knows which corner of the lanai the water finds first. When weather threatens, that familiarity is the whole advantage.
Home Watch Solutions SWFL does not install shutters, board windows, cut trees, repair roofs or haul debris. Those are jobs for licensed and insured trades. What Steven provides is eyes on the property, documentation you can act on, and a local contact who is already inside your circle of trust.
After the storm
What the post-storm check covers.
Exterior condition review
A ground-level walk of the property: roofline and gutters as far as they can be seen, siding, soffits, screens, lanai, fencing and outbuildings.
Openings and entry points
Windows, doors, sliders and the garage checked for impact, water intrusion signs and security.
Water intrusion signs
Ceilings, walls, window frames and floors looked over for the staining and dampness that follow wind-driven rain.
Power and systems status
Whether power has returned, whether the air conditioning is running again, and whether breakers tripped while you were away.
Debris and yard condition
What the storm moved or brought onto the property, and anything now resting against the structure.
Photo documentation
Dated photographs of what Steven found, which is what you want in hand when you talk to your insurer or a contractor.
Direct communication
You hear from Steven, with what he saw. No queue and no dispatcher between you and the person on site.
Local coordination
When repairs are needed, Steven acts as your on-site contact and helps coordinate the trades and vendors doing the work.
Honest limits
What this is, and what it is not.
A post-storm check is a visual review of the home and property looking for obvious issues. It is not a licensed inspection, not an engineering assessment, and not an insurance adjustment. Steven does not climb on roofs or enter unsafe structures, and after a major storm, access depends on road closures, curfews and utility work — so no arrival time is promised.
What you can count on is that a Marine veteran who knows your house will get there as soon as the area can be reached safely, photograph what he finds, and call you.
Questions homeowners ask
Straight answers.
- Who can check my property after a hurricane?
- Steven can. For homeowners who are out of state when a storm passes, he performs a visual post-storm check of the property, documents what he finds with dated photos, and contacts you directly.
- What happens during hurricane season?
- Regular weekly or bi-weekly visits continue as normal. When a storm affects the area, a post-storm visual check and documentation follow so you know the condition of your home without flying down.
- Do you install shutters or make repairs?
- No. Home Watch Solutions SWFL does not install hurricane shutters, perform roof or structural repairs, remove debris or carry out licensed inspections. Steven inspects visually, documents, communicates and helps coordinate the licensed trades who do that work.
- Is this a licensed home inspection?
- No. Home watch is a visual inspection of the home and property looking for obvious issues. It is not a licensed real-estate home inspection, and it is not a substitute for your insurance coverage.
- Can you reach my home immediately after a storm?
- Access after a major storm depends on road conditions, curfews and utility crews, so no arrival window is promised. Steven checks properties as soon as the area can safely be reached and keeps owners informed in the meantime.
